Fossil fish collection
The fossil fish collection consists of three subcollections: Sarmatian fish of Croatia and Slavonia; Cretaceous fish from the island of Hvar; and teeth of Miocene fish. These collections were mostly assembled through research in the 19th century, primarily at localities on the island of Hvar, the surroundings of Zagreb, and Radoboj. The collections contain 46 holotypes. Part of the collection consists of fossil fish from various European localities that were donated to the Museum.
