Gemstone Collection

The collection is modest in size, but it represents a well-selected assemblage of both cut (faceted/polished) and rough mineral specimens classified as gemstones.

The gemstone collection brings together the most significant representatives of mineral species and varieties from various localities around the world.

Among the most highly valued are diamond, followed by corundum with its varieties ruby and sapphire, and beryl with its varieties emerald and aquamarine.

In addition to its aesthetic value, the collection also holds important educational and comparative value, as it enables overview and comparison in the assessment (expert evaluation) of specimens from other museum collections that contain or are made of gemological material.
