Schedule of Educational Nature Trips for May and June 2018
12 and 13 May, Saturday and Sunday
Educational Trip: Istria — Pazin Cave, Zarečki Waterfall, Baredine Cave, Kamenjak
Saturday, 12 May
- 10:00 — gathering in Pazin, with transport by private cars
- 10:00 – 13:00 — tour of Pazin Cave with expert guidance by speleologists
- The tour price with a special discount for our group is HRK 100 for adults and HRK 80 for children.
- 13:00 — departure by car to Zarečki Waterfall near Pazin
- 13:30 – 14:30 — time for rest and lunch in nature
- 14:30 – 16:30 — study of rocks and fossils near Zarečki Waterfall
- 16:30 – 17:30 — drive to Baredine Cave near Poreč
- 17:30 — dinner on the grounds of Baredine Cave
Overnight stay is possible free of charge in participants’ own tents and sleeping bags on the grounds of Baredine Cave, or in independently arranged apartments in the nearby village of Nova Vas.
Sunday, 13 May
- 9:00 – 9:40 — tour of Baredine Cave
- 10:00 – 11:00 — drive by car to Cape Kamenjak
- 11:00 – 17:00 — tour of the important natural phenomena of Cape Kamenjak, including dinosaur footprints, fossils, rocks, flora, and fauna, with a lunch break in nature
- 17:00 — departure home by car

9 June, Saturday
Educational Trip: Samarske stijene
Preliminary Trip Plan
- 10:00 — gathering in Mrkopalj in Gorski kotar, with transport by private cars
- 10:00 – 10:30 — drive by car to Tuk, then further along a gravel road to the start of the hiking trail for Samarske stijene
- 10:30 – 11:30 — hike to Ratko’s Shelter
- 11:30 – 12:30 — lunch break
- 12:30 – 17:00 — tour of Samarske stijene along a circular trail, a demanding mountain trail, with educational interpretation of karst phenomena such as pits, sinkholes, karren, and rock pools, as well as flora and fauna
- 17:00 — departure home by car
