Dear nature lovers,
The From the Museum into Nature program begins on 15 May with the educational trip “Karst Phenomena of Western Medvednica”. We hope that the trips will be held at least once a month, and you will be regularly informed about them around ten days before each scheduled trip.
The number of trips and their locations depend partly on the funding of the program, which was completely unavailable this year, and partly on the epidemiological situation, including restrictions on gatherings.

About the Trip
The main themes of the trip are karst springs, swallow holes, sinkholes, pits, and Veternica Cave. We will also study fossil-rich rocks, as well as the plant and animal life of the area.
To avoid returning along the same route, the trip starts from Gornje Vrapče and ends in Gornji Stenjevec. The easiest way to reach Gornje Vrapče and return from Gornji Stenjevec is by city bus.
The planned duration of the trip is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or possibly 5:00 p.m.
Participants should bring suitable footwear, such as hiking boots or outdoor trainers, and layered clothing appropriate for the weather forecast. It is also recommended to bring rainwear and an umbrella.
A half-hour lunch break in nature is planned, so participants should bring their own food.
The hiking pace will be light and adapted to the abilities of the group, including children and older participants.
