Perfection of Evolution – REVEALING: Exhibition at the Zagreb City Library
10 October – 15 November 2026 | Zagreb City Library, Starčević Square 6, Zagreb
The Croatian Natural History Museum’s exhibition Perfection of Evolution – REVEALING continues its journey and is now on display at the Zagreb City Library, in the Central Department for Children and Young Adults, from 10 October to 15 November 2026.
Through artistic photography, the exhibition explores unexpected visual connections between the world of minerals and the world of insects. By juxtaposing the colours, patterns, shapes and structures of minerals and beetles from the Croatian Natural History Museum’s collections, it reveals remarkable similarities between the living and non-living worlds.
In some photographs, beetles blend almost seamlessly into their mineral backgrounds, while in others, their colours and forms create striking contrasts. These unusual compositions invite visitors to take a closer look, discover fascinating details and appreciate the beauty and diversity of natural forms.
The exhibition is presented as part of Croatian Book Month, which this year focuses on natural sciences, scientific literature and the popularisation of science.
Exhibition authors: Petar Crnčan, Nives Borčić, Dr Iva Mihoci and Dr Ivan Razum.
We invite everyone interested in nature, photography and science to visit the exhibition and discover the surprising connections between minerals and beetles.
Venue: Zagreb City Library – Central Department for Children and Young Adults, Starčević Square 6, Zagreb
Exhibition dates: 10 October – 15 November 2026
