Space Week

From 4 to 11 October, the Croatian Natural History Museum invites visitors to explore space through educational and creative workshops, a lecture by Ante Radonić, a screening of The Martian, and presentations in Deep Space 3D.

Sunday, 4 October

Universe Sandbox – Create Your Own Universe

Time: 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Workshop leader: Branimir Ivić
Capacity: 12 participants

Using Universe Sandbox, participants will explore the forces that shape our universe. They will simulate the formation and evolution of galaxies, experiment with black holes and supernovae, and model planetary systems.

Thursday, 8 October

Missions to the Red Planet

Time: 6:00 p.m.
Speaker: Ante Radonić

Which spacecraft have we sent to Mars, what have they discovered, and what comes next? Astronomy communicator Ante Radonić will introduce the missions that have transformed our understanding of the Red Planet.

Screening of The Martian

Time: 8:00 p.m.

Astronaut Mark Watney is stranded on Mars after his crew evacuates, believing he has died. Drawing on his knowledge, ingenuity and humour, he struggles to survive while NASA and his crew work to bring him home.

Space on Canvas

In this creative workshop, participants will draw inspiration from space and bring their ideas to life on canvas.

Free Admission on Sundays

Admission to the Croatian Natural History Museum is free on Sundays. Presentations in Deep Space 3D are also free on Sundays, at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
