Natura Electronica: Aurora Borealis – The Winter Chapter of an Audiovisual Experience
5 December 2026 | 17:00–23:00 | Croatian Natural History Museum, Demetrova 1, Zagreb
The Croatian Natural History Museum, in collaboration with Panic Room Croatia, continues its audiovisual project NATURA ELECTRONICA, exploring the connections between electronic music, natural phenomena, art and technology.
Each chapter of the project is inspired by one of the four seasons and the natural processes that define it. Through electronic music, lighting effects, projections and artistic interventions, the museum is transformed into a multisensory environment where nature is reinterpreted through a contemporary audiovisual experience.
Aurora Borealis – The Lights of the Northern Sky
The fourth and final chapter of this year’s Natura Electronica cycle, Aurora Borealis, draws inspiration from the Northern Lights – one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena, created by the interaction of charged particles from the solar wind with Earth’s atmosphere.
Fluid shapes, flowing waves of light and constantly shifting colours provide the inspiration for a new audiovisual experience. Shades of green, blue and purple will come to life through light installations and projections, while the rhythms of electronic music set the atmosphere for this winter edition.
For one evening, the Croatian Natural History Museum will become a stage where science, nature, technology and contemporary music culture come together.
Music Programme: Petar Dundov and Luka Kosty
Headlining the event is PETAR DUNDOV, one of the most prominent figures on Croatia’s electronic music scene and a long-standing representative of Croatian electronic music on the international stage.
Over more than three decades, Dundov has developed a distinctive musical style that blends techno, layered melodies and atmospheric depth. With albums such as Escapements and Sailing Off the Grid, releases on the renowned Music Man label, and performances at iconic clubs and festivals including Berghain, DC-10 and Awakenings, he has earned international recognition and a devoted following.
His sound is characterised by hypnotic rhythms, rich melodic structures and gradual sonic progression, creating a sense of constant movement and transformation. This musical approach naturally complements the theme of Aurora Borealis, whose shifting patterns of light and colour create an ever-changing spectacle.
Joining him is LUKA KOSTY, a Panic Room resident DJ, whose musical selection will further shape the atmosphere of the evening, bringing together club energy and the project’s distinctive audiovisual identity.
The Final Chapter of the Annual Cycle
Natura Electronica: Aurora Borealis marks the conclusion of this year’s cycle, which has explored different expressions and manifestations of nature through the changing seasons.
Combining electronic music, contemporary art, technology and the unique architecture of the Croatian Natural History Museum, Natura Electronica offers a different way to experience the museum – as a meeting place for science, culture and contemporary artistic expression.
Capacity is limited, and only a limited number of tickets are available.
