About the exhibition

The exhibition “European Union Funds and the City of Zagreb for the New Croatian Natural History Museum”
is the final exhibition in the series “Towards the New CNHM”, presenting
to the public the realization process of the strategic project
“Heritage Keeper as a Catalyst for Development, Research and Learning – the New Croatian Natural History Museum”.

Through the exhibition, visitors can learn about the reconstruction and extension
of the Amadeo Palace, as well as the new facilities that shaped the contemporary
Croatian Natural History Museum.

The project was co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional
Development Fund, in partnership with the City of Zagreb, while the structural
renovation of the Amadeo Palace was financed by the European Union Solidarity Fund.

The new Croatian Natural History Museum

The exhibition presents visualizations of the new permanent display, multimedia
hall, atrium and underground annex of the Amadeo Palace, while also highlighting
the work of numerous experts involved in the realization of the project.

The new permanent display is based on the interpretation of the rich holdings of
the Croatian Natural History Museum, including mineralogical-petrographic,
geological-paleontological, paleoanthropological, zoological and botanical collections.

A contemporary museum approach

Through multimedia solutions and a contemporary museological approach, visitors
are introduced to topics of natural history and paleoanthropological heritage,
as well as one of the fundamental questions of science — how life originated
and how it developed through time.
