Age group: 6–12 years

A superorganism is a closely connected colony of individuals, characteristic of bees, wasps, ants, and termites. It is distinguished by complex communication and a highly organized division of labour, making it one of the most fascinating and complex phenomena in biology. Humans have long been fascinated by the cooperative life of social insects, where every individual has a specific role—from caring for the brood and collecting nectar and pollen to cleaning the nest and defending the colony.

The workshop begins with a short presentation by the exhibition curator, Dr Martina Podnar Lešić. Since social insects are remarkable builders, participants will have the opportunity to construct an ant bridge and a beehive model. Through creative activities and puzzles, children will discover how ants, bees, wasps, and termites live and work together.

All materials and supplies are provided. Due to the limited number of participants and epidemiological measures, advance registration is required.
