WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN: Make Your Own Volcano
When Europe’s largest volcano, Etna, erupted again on 21 April 2020, it inspired us to make our own volcano in today’s workshop 😊
MATERIALS:
- plastic cup
- modelling clay (plasticine / air-dry clay)
- baking soda
- dishwashing detergent
- food colouring (or red paprika powder)
- vinegar
- large plastic tray or cardboard box
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Use modelling clay to shape a “volcano” around the plastic cup
- Put a little warm water into the cup, add 3 tablespoons of baking soda and a little dishwashing detergent
- When you are ready for the eruption, add vinegar coloured with red dye into the “volcano”
