The Jelačić Legacy in the Croatian History Museum was created over a longer period and today contains around 700 diverse museum objects that belonged to the Ban and members of his family.
The Legacy was formed gradually, primarily through donations from the Jelačić family itself.
The basis of the Legacy consists of objects that family members donated during their lifetime or designated as a whole for the Archaeological-Historical National Museum in Zagreb. Most of these objects arrived at the Museum in 1937 through the purchase of the legacy of Anka Jelačić, daughter of the Ban’s younger brother Jure and the last heir of Novi Dvori.
