SUPERORGANISM – THE LIFE FORCES OF SOCIAL INSECTS

A large number of specimens from the entomological collections of the Croatian Natural History Museum are on display, including species from the families of bees, wasps, ants and termites. In total, more than 1000 individuals from these groups are exhibited.

18.00 – 01.00

FOSSILS IN THE FLOW OF TIME AND ARTISTIC IMPRESSION

The exhibition presents a small part of the Museum’s rich geological and palaeontological holdings, together with works by students of the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb inspired by this part of the collection.

The works are the result of their systematic visits to our Museum, where they photographed and sketched, and later developed their ideas at school with their professors and mentors, leading to the final works.

18.00 – 01.00

CORAL TAKEN FROM THE SEA

The aim of the exhibition is to present the natural history characteristics of corals, taking into account their structure, way of life, systematics, distribution and vulnerability, while also including numerous interesting facts, legends, myths, beliefs and artistic interpretations of corals.

18.00 – 01.00

HIDDEN INHABITANTS OF THE NERETVA VALLEY

The exhibition is the result of five years of cooperation between the Croatian Natural History Museum in Zagreb and the Natural History Museum in Metković.

The exhibition presents more than 200 species of molluscs, mostly freshwater and marine bivalves and snails, collected in the Neretva Valley over the past two years by the exhibition author, curator Petar Crnčan, together with his collaborators.
