🕕 6:00 PM – Lecture (in Croatian)
🎬 7:00 PM – Screening of Jaws (English audio with Croatian subtitles)
📍 Croatian Natural History Museum

Are sharks in the Adriatic Sea really dangerous, or is our fear greater than the actual risk?

Join us for an engaging evening exploring one of the sea’s most fascinating predators. The lecture “Shark Attacks in the Adriatic Sea – Facts, Myths and the Real Risk” will examine the history of recorded shark attacks in the Adriatic, the shark species that inhabit these waters, and what modern science tells us about their behaviour.

Through real-life cases, statistics and scientific evidence, we will debunk common myths about sharks and answer one of the most frequently asked questions: How safe is it to swim in the Adriatic Sea?

The lecture will be given by Denis Leiner, DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) and is intended for the general public, sea lovers, divers, anglers and anyone interested in the fascinating world of sharks.

Following the lecture, at 7:00 PM, we will screen Jaws, Steven Spielberg’s iconic thriller that forever changed the way the public perceives sharks and sparked a global conversation about humanity’s relationship with the natural world.

Admission is free, but registration is required

Please note: The lecture will be held in Croatian, while the film will be screened in English with Croatian subtitles.

Visitors attending only the film screening are kindly asked to arrive at 6:50 PM.
