Invitation to the Opening of the Exhibition “Inner Landscapes”

The Croatian Natural History Museum is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Inner Landscapes”, taking place on Tuesday, 6 October 2026 at 6:00 PM.
The exhibition brings together two seemingly distant worlds – Oskar Herman’s late landscapes, created during the 1960s and early 1970s, and minerals and rocks from the Mineralogical and Petrographic Collection of the Croatian Natural History Museum.
Herman’s landscapes are more than representations of nature. In his works, the landscape becomes a space of inner states, emotions, memories and thoughts. Minerals and rocks, on the other hand, reveal another, invisible landscape – one formed deep within the Earth through processes unfolding over millions of years.
By bringing together an artistic perspective and natural history heritage, “Inner Landscapes” takes visitors on a journey from the surface to the depths, from the visible to the hidden, and from the external world to the inner one.
