Inner Landscapes of the Human Mind: What Do We Carry Within?
A Conversation with Professor Ana Butković

Croatian Natural History Museum – Multimedia Hall
What shapes our inner world? How do our inner landscapes develop, and how well do we understand our own thoughts, emotions, memories, fears and desires?
As part of the discussion programme accompanying the exhibition Inner Landscapes – Landscapes by Oskar Herman and Landscapes of the Earth’s Interior, exhibition curator and museum advisor Jasminka Poklečki will be joined by Professor Ana Butković, Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb.
Her research and teaching interests include personality psychology, behavioural genetics and cross-cultural psychology, with a particular focus on the psychology of music and art, as well as the relationship between personality and artistic preferences.
Taking inspiration from the paintings of Oskar Herman, who transformed his inner visions into works of art, the conversation will explore the inner worlds we all carry within us. How are they shaped by childhood, personal experiences and relationships? To what extent are our inner landscapes formed by memories, imagination and expectations? Can we learn to understand ourselves more deeply?
Join us for a thought-provoking conversation about the complexity of human experience and the often invisible forces that shape how we feel, think and live.
Advance registration is required. Please register using the online form.
