INA Supported the “Culture of Giving” Programme

Zagreb, 18 March 2019 – INA handed over to the Croatian Natural History Museum, for safekeeping, a study entitled “Synthesis of Petroleum-Geological Occurrences of Hydrocarbons in the Dinarides Area – Examination of Surface Hydrocarbon Occurrences”, thereby contributing to the completion of the rock collection already kept in the museum.

The study that INA donated to the museum consists of three books created as a result of field research, geological and tectonic-structural analysis, and micropalaeontological data. They were prepared for the purpose of identifying potentially promising areas for oil and gas exploration in the Dinarides area.

The documentation was prepared by Industroprojekt – Zagreb in 1973 and 1974, and the client was INA – Naftaplin.

On behalf of INA, the documentation was formally presented to the museum by Tvrtko Perković, Chief Operating Officer of Exploration and Production, who stated on that occasion:

“The history of INA’s oil and gas exploration and production in Croatia is more than 60 years long. The documentation we are handing over today is only a small part of the great experience and knowledge we have at INA. We are pleased to have helped complete one museum collection, especially at a time when new tenders for exploration on Croatian land have been opened. INA will participate in those tenders and thus continue writing Croatia’s successful oil industry history.”

Tatjana Vlahović, director of the Croatian Natural History Museum, thanked INA for the donation and added:

“We are pleased that INA has embraced the culture of giving and recognized our efforts to preserve as much valuable museum material as possible. With the donated documentation, we have now completed one collection, and in the future it will be possible to exhibit it to the public. It is important to us that others also embrace the culture of donating to museums, so that we can preserve as many valuable collections as possible that, outside museums, are threatened by oblivion and disappearance.”

The Croatian Natural History Museum launched the “Culture of Giving” programme one year ago with the aim of encouraging active participation in creating and enriching the museum’s holdings.
