Honouring Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger with a Wreath-Laying Ceremony at Mirogoj Cemetery
19 October 2026
We paid tribute to Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger, one of Croatia’s most distinguished natural scientists, by laying a wreath at his grave at Mirogoj Cemetery in Zagreb. His remarkable work left a lasting mark on both Croatian and international science.
Commemorating the 170th anniversary of his birth and the 90th anniversary of his death, we remembered not only his outstanding scientific achievements but also the curiosity, dedication and spirit of discovery that continue to inspire new generations of researchers.
This solemn and heartfelt tribute marked the beginning of a day dedicated to celebrating his life and legacy. The commemoration continued with a scientific symposium at the Croatian Natural History Museum, bringing together experts and representatives of scientific and museum institutions.
