From the Museum into Nature
The programme “From the Museum into Nature” is an expansion of the previous programme of the Croatian Natural History Museum, which was held from 2009 to 2013 under the title “From the Museum to Medvednica”.
The aim of the programme is, in addition to the usual viewing of natural history specimens in the museum, to offer visitors the opportunity to experience natural values directly through excursions in nature.
Educational nature excursions led by curators are designed as easy walks, suitable for all ages, along selected hiking trails where important natural phenomena are presented directly.
Children’s workshops and popular science lectures are held at the Croatian Natural History Museum, where visitors can also view part of the museum holdings through the current permanent display and thematic exhibitions.
The programme is held during May and June, as well as in September and October, when the weather is usually most suitable for nature excursions.
