Educational trip – Golubinjak Forest Park and Lokvarka Cave

The trip to Gorski kotar includes visits to Golubinjak Forest Park, Ledena Cave, Golubinja Half-Cave and Lokvarka Cave.

Trip plan, Saturday, September 30:

10:00 Gathering at the entrance to Golubinjak Forest Park, with transport organized individually.

The easiest way to arrive from Zagreb is by motorway toward Rijeka, exiting at Delnice, turning left onto the old road toward Rijeka and, after about 4 km, turning left again, following the signpost toward Golubinjak Forest Park.

10:15 – 13:00 Hiking through Golubinjak Forest Park with visits to Golubinja Cave, Ledena Cave and Paklena vrata.

13:00 – 14:00 Lunch break, with food brought individually, such as fruit, sandwiches and similar.

14:00 – 15:00 Visit to the Lokvarka sinkhole.

15:00 – 16:30 Visit to Lokvarka Cave.

16:30 – 18:00 Walk along Lake Lokve.

18:00 Departure home by private transport.

Notes:

Participants should bring suitable footwear, hiking boots or sturdy trainers, and warmer clothing, as the cave temperature is around 8 °C.

It is also recommended to bring a flashlight for visiting Ledena Cave, which is not arranged for tourists.

The ticket price for the Forest Park is 15 HRK per person.

The ticket price for Lokvarka Cave is 35 HRK per person, with a group discount.
