E…Like an Earthquake
E…LIKE AN EARTHQUAKE – Children’s Workshops Accompanying the Exhibition ZG EARTHQUAKE. HELLO 193
The ground is moving, the Earth will shake,
Disturbing everything in its wake.
They start abruptly, do not last long,
Yet their destructive force is strong.
With verses from the “Geological Alphabet Book”, published by the Croatian Natural History Museum, we are pleased to announce a series of educational workshops for children accompanying the exhibition “ZG EARTHQUAKE. HELLO 193” at the Zagreb City Museum.
The exhibition presents, through interactive displays, the consequences of devastating earthquakes on the people and buildings of Zagreb, comparing the 2020 earthquake with the historic Zagreb earthquake of 1880.
Following a short guided tour of the exhibition, participants will learn about the structure of the Earth, discover what causes the ground to shake, and create their own seismograph.
The guided tour and workshop are intended for primary school pupils in the lower grades and are led by museum educators from the Zagreb City Museum and the Croatian Natural History Museum.
Workshop fee: €3 per participant
Places are limited, and advance registration is required through the museum education department.
