Ammonite collections

The ammonite collections are part of the geological and palaeontological holdings of the Croatian Natural History Museum and consist of the following subcollections: Fauna of the Upper and Middle Triassic of Croatia; cephalopod fauna of the Middle Triassic Kunovac Vrela in Lika; cephalopod fauna of the Middle Triassic Gregurić Brijeg in the Samobor Mountains; cephalopod fauna of the Middle Triassic Kuna Gora in Hrvatsko Zagorje; fauna of the Lower Triassic of Velebit, Lika, and Dalmatia; Lower Triassic ammonites of southern Croatia; Anisian ammonites of Brotnjo, Lika; and Ladinian ammonites of Pirovište–Krašić, Žumberak.

These collections mainly consist of fossil ammonites and, in a significantly smaller amount, other fauna (bivalves, nautiloids, gastropods, etc.) from various localities in Croatia.

All specimens are of Triassic age (250–210 million years).
