Krapina Diluvium Collection

The collection consists of Neanderthal remains, fauna, and artifacts excavated at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century by Dragutin Gorjanović-Kramberger. The collection contains the largest number of Neanderthal bones from a single site in the world. It is divided into three subgroups (according to historical names): A. remains of “Homo neanderthalensis,” B. artifacts from Krapina, and C. mammals of the Krapina Diluvium. The Krapina Diluvium collection is one of the most significant collections in the world containing human fossil remains.
