About the artist
Dr. art. Tomislav Ostrman was born in 1978 in Zagreb, where he completed his primary and secondary education, as well as basic music school. In 1998, he enrolled at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb, but during his studies he actively engaged in painting and organized his first exhibitions.
In his third year, he left law studies to fully dedicate himself to painting. He enrolled at the Arthouse College of Visual Arts in Ljubljana and graduated in 2009 with a degree in painting in the class of Prof. Darko Slavac, with Dean’s commendation.
He enrolled in postgraduate doctoral studies in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, under the mentorship of Academician Igor Rončević (whose assistant he was in 2013/14), and with theoretical supervision by Dr. sc. Daniela Angelina Jelinčić.
He received his doctorate in painting in 2021.
