Abstract

In this paper we present the results of a many-year survey of moths (Insecta: Lepidoptera: Heterocera) in Pazin and Vela Traba (Central Istria, Croatia). During the thirteen years of research we recorded a total of 131 species belonging to 10 different families. The most interesting species is Eriogaster catax (Linnaeus, 1758) (Lepidoptera, Lasiocampidae), which is listed in the Appendix II of the Habitats Directive (Anonymous, 1992). 20 species are new for the Croatian part of Istria.
