Relocation of museum material

The relocation of museum material to the new museum storage facility in Novi Petruševec is in full swing.

Numerous valuable items, more than 1.4 million objects carefully packed in many boxes and crates, are being moved to the largest specialised museum storage facility in Novi Petruševec.

The storage facilities have been arranged according to current museum standards and adapted to the sensitive material cared for by the Museum; relative humidity, temperature, adequate lighting and protection from dust and pests are only some of the standards of the largest museum storage facility in Croatia.

Since museum activity is one of the areas where savings are systematically made and significant investments are rare, the CNHM Novi Petruševec storage facility represents a major step forward in this respect.

The Croatian Natural History Museum was severely damaged in the earthquake and is currently in the final stage of preparations for relocating its material to the new location, in order to begin the Museum reconstruction project worth 96 million kuna, financed by EU funds and the City of Zagreb.
