The aim of the From the Museum into Nature program is to allow visitors of the Croatian Natural History Museum to experience natural values directly through trips in nature.
Educational nature trips led by curators are carried out as easy walks along selected hiking trails of Medvednica and other Croatian mountains, where important natural phenomena are encountered and explained directly in the field.
Workshops for children and popular science lectures are held at the Croatian Natural History Museum, where visitors can also view part of the Museum’s holdings through the current permanent exhibition and thematic exhibitions.
The program is regularly held during May and June, as well as in September and October. More detailed information about the trips will be available on the Museum’s website.
Exceptionally, at the request of an organized school group, it is possible to arrange an educational trip on a special date outside the official program schedule.

Educational Walk and Children’s Workshop: Through the Streets of Zagreb… Zagreb in Stone
Join us for a walk through the current exhibition Through the Streets of Zagreb… Zagreb in Stone, where we will learn together about rocks, or building stone, used in the construction of Zagreb’s most famous buildings.
We will also find out why Zagreb Cathedral is constantly being restored, and which fossils can be seen while walking through our city.
After the exhibition, with expert guidance, the study of rocks and fossils, and completing a worksheet, we will set off on a walk.
The walk includes visits to St Mark’s Square, Zagreb Cathedral, Ban Jelačić Square, and Kino Europa.
Walk and workshop leaders: Petra Šparica, Katarina Krizmanić, and Nediljka Prlj Šimić
