Natural History Board Games Afternoon

Spend your Saturday afternoon enjoying games, fun, and natural history discoveries! Alongside exploring the museum’s permanent exhibition, visitors can take part in a selection of educational board games inspired by geology, biology, and museum collections.

Through play, participants will discover Earth’s geological past, learn about the importance of DNA, explore different animal habitats, and get to know the museum in a unique and engaging way. In addition to tabletop games, life-sized floor versions of the DNA Trail and Natural History games will be available, where the players themselves become the game pieces.

Games

🕷️ Dominance
A strategic board game where players take on the roles of a snail, centipede, spider, or grasshopper and compete for dominance in nature.

Arrange major events from Earth’s geological history in the correct chronological order.

🏛️ Natural History – Discover the Croatian Natural History Museum
Explore museum exhibitions, encounter fascinating specimens, and learn interesting facts about natural history.

📚 The games were developed by staff of the Croatian Natural History Museum, together with staff and students from the Departments of Geology and Biology at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb.
