Abstract
There are some records in the older botanic literature that the species Festuca pulchella is present in Croatia, but the localities are not mentioned. In this paper the species is confirmed for the flora of Croatia. It was found at two localities, on Snje`nik (Risnjak National Park) and on Zavi`an (North Velebit National Park), above the altitude of 1400 m a.s.l., in the composition of non-forest vegetation.

Abstract
In 2005 the variation of clutch size of tree sparrows Passer montanus was investigated in the Mokrice rural area, north-western Croatia. Average clutch size of first clutches was 5.00 eggs (SD = 0.62), of the second 5.36 eggs (SD = 0.66) and of the third 4.86 eggs (SD = 0.71). Repeatability (r) of clutch size in first, second and third clutches (within-year) was significant (p = 0.005). This means that 33% of the variation in clutch size is due to intraindividual variation of genetic factors (intrinsic »female quality«).

Abstract
Andri}’s herbarium was established between 1823 and 1824. It was completed in 1837 and is kept today at two locations. The biggest part of the herbarium is placed in the Natural History Museum in Split, while the class folder of Diandria is kept in the Trogir City Museum. Unfortunately, it is not known when the parts of herbarium were stored in these two institutions nor on which occasion the transfer took place. Today there are 620 herbarium sheets in the two museums, out of which 518 taxa were listed in the register from 1914, while 115 taxa are missing. In addition to the 905 taxa that Andri} collected or registered (according to the list from 1914), there are 24 newly discovered taxa that are found and labelled in the herbaria of the Trogir City Museum and Natural History Museum in Split. Thus, according to the work done on the material so far, the total number of taxa collected or registered by Andrija Andri} for the Trogir flora is 929. In 2005, Andri}’s herbarium at the Natural History Museum in Split was updated, which included replacement and preservation of herbarium sheets and insertion of original labels in the herbarium.

Croat., Vol. 17, No. 1., 27–33, 2008, Zagreb. Abstract
In this paper, the association Caricetum buekii is noted for the first time in Croatia. It has been established in wet habitats in the valleys of the Korana and Radonja rivers. Phytosociologically, it belongs to marshland vegetation of the class Phragmito-Magnocaricetea. The present paper also makes a contribution to the knowledge of the distribution of Carex buekii in Croatia. The species has been found at three new localities south of Karlovac: in Vukmani}ki Cerovec, Tu{ilovi} and Krnjak.

Abstract
The known geographical distribution of the colonial scleractinian coral Cladopsammia rolandi Lacaze-Duthiers, 1897 has been extended with new records from the Adriatic Sea. This Mediterranean endemic scleractinian coral was found in spring 2002 on the cliff at the south of Lastovo Island and in summer 2005 on the two locations at the south-west of Mljet Island (South Adriatic). The new records reported here are the first confirmation of C. rolandi presently living in the Adriatic Sea.
