Abstract
The plant species Typha laxmannii Lepechin (Typhaceae) was found in summer 2000 in the vicinity of Kopa~evo village (East Croatia). This is the first finding of T. laxmannii in Croatia and the plant probably came from Vojvodina region (Serbia). A small population in Kopa~evo was found in an artificial depression where the sand had been excavated.

Abstract
The creation and destiny of reference collections deposited at the marine research station in Rovinj (founded in 1891) are described. By the end of the World War II collections and scientific equipment were transported to Italy and the Institute was demolished. At present in the institution now named Center for Marine Research zoological collections comprising 1160 species and 4520 lots, and herbarium of about 400 taxa / 1850 herbarium sheets and samples are deposited.

Abstract
In order to build up the data infrastructure on the chorology of Croatian vascular flora, the present data on the distribution of taxa from the class Lycopsida were collected from literature and herbarium sources. For 8 taxa of Croatian flora 325 localities were found, and 108 localities of herbarium specimens and 172 localities cited in the literature were geocoded. The distribution was represented with a list of localities and maps using a Central European grid for floristic mapping. The amounts of data available for given MTB squares indicated that the mountain macro-region (especially the Gorski kotar and Lika meso-region) was better investigated.

Abstract
According to botanical research carried out in 1997/1998, it has been established that the flora of the island of Vela Kluda numbers 137 species of vascular plants classified into 107 genera and 42 families. According to all the data checked, no systemic botanical resarch has been carried out on the island previous, so this analysis of the living forms and floral elements of the registered taxa of vascular plants has been performed.

Abstract
This article analyses the effect of body weight and wing length of female starlings on clutch size as well as the effect of laying order on egg size. Egg length averaged 29.43 mm, egg breadth 21.32 mm, egg volume 6829 mm3, egg weight 6.92 g and egg shape index 1.38. There was no significant relationship between female body weight and clutch size and egg size (p > 0.05). The same can be applied to the female wing length. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between mean egg volume and egg length (r = 0.68; p < 0.001; n = 48) as well as egg breadth (r = 0.87; p < 0.001; n = 48), egg length and egg shape index (r = 0.81; p < 0.001; n = 48), whereas a statistically significant negative correlation was observed between egg breadth and egg shape index (r = –0.38; p < 0.01; n = 48). Generally, the laying order did not affect egg volume. According to the value of %D = –1.8 and the coefficient of egg weight variation (CV = 9.39%) starlings follow the brood reduction strategy. The value of %D can be obtained by calculated the percentage of final egg volume in relationship to mean egg volume of the whole clutch (SLAGSVOLD et al., 1984).

Abstract
Gobius couchi Miller & El-Tawil, 1974 was collected by SCUBA diving in the infralittoral zone at O{tro, in the Kvarner area, northern Adriatic Sea. This is the first record in the Adriatic Sea, and the second finding in the Mediterranean Sea of this previously considered north-eastern Atlantic species.
