"European Union funds and the City of Zagreb for the new Croatian Natural History Museum" is the last of the four exhibitions in the "To the New CNHM" series. The exhibition series "To the New CNHM" shows the implementation of the strategic project of the Zagreb Urban Agglomeration "Guardian of Heritage as a Catalyst for Development, Research and Learning - New Croatian Natural History Museum" related to the reconstruction and extension of the Amadeo Palace and the new contents of the Croatian Natural History Museum, which are expected from 2024. The project of the New Croatian Natural History Museum was co-financed by the European Union funds from the European Regional Development Fund and by the partner City of Zagreb, while the constructive renovation of the Amadeo Palace was financed by the European Union Solidarity Fund.

The designers of the reconstruction and extension of the Amadeo Palace with a new permanent display are Radionica Arhitekture d.o.o., Arhingtrade d.o.o. and the Office of authorized architect Vanja Ilić.

With this exhibition, we present illustrations of the new permanent display, the multimedia hall, the atrium and the added underground annex of the Amadeo Palace, as well as the continuous work of all project participants and museum employees to achieve the goals of the project " Guardian of Heritage as a Catalyst for Development, Research and Learning - New Croatian Natural History Museum". The new permanent display of the museum is based on a complete interpretation of the museum fund from mineralogical-petrographic, geological-paleontological, paleoanthropological, zoological and botanical collections, reconstructions and models and multimedia solutions, with the aim of a better understanding of the living and non-living world, i. e. natural history and paleoanthropological heritage. By contextualizing the exhibits in the new permanent display, there is an answer to the question What is life and how did it come about?, while using the entire potential of the cultural natural history heritage and a scientific approach in the museological processing of the material that is the backbone of the exhibition and tells the story of the diversity of the world that surrounds us.

The permanent display of the Croatian Natural History Museum is a reflection of representative collections of the geological, biological and paleoanthropological heritage of Croatia and the world, especially considering the function of the museum as the parent institution for natural history in Croatia. In this exhibition, designer Vanja Ilić and her collaborators show illustrations of the interior and layout of the new museum.
